Los Angeles based novelist Jade Chang's first novel, The Wangs vs.

The World, released October 4 with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, has been described by ELLE magazine as 'one of the best debut novels of 2016’. The novel follows immigrant Chinese businessman Charles Wang, who decides to start life anew after being ruined by the financial crisis, and embarks on a road trip across America with his family. Chang, a journalist and editor, says 'I wanted to illuminate a new take on belonging in America, with immigrants who don't yearn for acceptance or struggle to fit in. Instead, they're here to knock sh*t down and rebuild the country in their own image!'. After writing this novel full of engaging characters and moments of intense poignancy, Chang's own journey is only just beginning.
